Tulip Bouquet Subscription
About Our Tulip Bouquet Subscription
Our tulip bouquet subscriptions are a wonderful way to enjoy spring blooms early!
We grow our tulips so that they bloom in late winter, long before any flowers are blooming outside. This allows you to enjoy the very first locally grown flowers of the season! They are grown without harsh chemicals and are a beautiful mix of colors and shapes, including parrot and double petaled types.
The Tulip Bouquet Subscription will start when the tulips begin to bloom.
We aim for the first blooms to begin in late February. As with all things farming, there is a bit of uncertainty because we are not only dependent on our skills, but also on Mother Nature. Thus, we estimate when their bloom time will begin. The date the tulip bouquet subscription begins is influenced by weather, temperatures, growing conditions, when the bulbs arrive for planting, etc…but we do our best to plan.
We will send a newsletter to inform our members of their growing progress over the winter, and members will receive notification within one week of the first bouquet pick up date. Once tulips begin to bloom, you will receive a tulip bouquet each week for up to 8 weeks.
If weather is unseasonably warm, it is possible that members will receive 6 weeks of bouquets rather than 8, however, each member will receive the full number of tulips purchased in the CSA. Each bouquet includes 8 stems of freshly cut tulips for 8 weeks. If it appears the season will be shortened due to warmer than usual weather, members will receive more stems per bouquet during the final weeks of their membership to ensure they receive the full number of tulips purchased. Pick up will be Saturdays from 9am to 3pm at Drifter Coffee in Ferndale, Michigan. Shares are pick up only.

FAQ's
Tulip Bouquet Subscriptions are non-refundable. When you purchase a tulip subscription you are also accepting a shared risk as a subscriber, that the crop may fail due to weather, disease, pest pressure or any other reason that may not be within the farm's control. This subscription allows you to support our small farm when it is needed most; by purchasing this subscription in advance, it helps us pay for the costs to grow the tulips during the leanest financial time of the year. It helps cover the cost of the bulbs, electricity, water and soil and labor during the winter months--- when nothing else is growing.
When is the first Tulip Bouquet Subscription pick up week?
We aim for late February, but you will be notified within one week of the start date. This is subject to change based on availability.
Do you offer every other week subscriptions?
At this time we are only offering weekly Tulip Bouquet Subscriptions.
Is it possible to pick up my bouquet early?
No. Our pick up begins when Drifter Coffee opens on Saturdays at 9 am.
What if I am out of town on my Bouquet pick up day?
If you are away, please ask a friend to pick up your bouquet, and let us know via email or text that someone else will be picking up for you within 24 hrs of pickup so that we can plan accordingly.
What if I forget to pick up my bouquet?
If you forget to pick up your bouquet, we cannot arrange an alternative time for you to pick it up.
Is a Tulip Bouquet Subscription a good gift for someone?
Yes! Our tulip bouquet subscription makes a great gift, but it is a small commitment to pick up each week. Please be sure the recipient is available to pick up their bouquet each week before purchasing for them. If gifting a subscription, please email us that it is a gift when you purchase and include the recipient’s name, email address and phone number.
